On-line Debt Counselling training is now available for learners countrywide!
- RUDO Zoom/On-line Debt Counselling training is now available for all leaners countrywide.
- First training for 2021 will commence on the 08th February 2021 – 26th February 2021, please find the full training schedule for 2021 below.
- The duration of the training is ten days but spread over 15 working days.
- There will be a mock examination on the Tuesday of the last week of training and examination on the last day.
- Pass mark is 75%
- Leaners will be provided with one opportunity to rewrite and if a leaner fails again then a fee will be applicable to rewrite for the second time
- Learners will be provided with full details of the training on the first day of training.
- Training will be delivered as follows:
- Leaners will be provided with an induction manual, training manual (Study guide), classroom reading Pack 1 and 2 before training commences. This will be couriered to the leaners upon effecting payment (10 days before the commencement of training)
- Leaners will be provided with the Zoom log in details two days before training commences.

What is the Debt Counsellor Training all about?
The National Credit Act was passed by Parliament in December 2005. This act makes provision for Debt Counselling programme to assist over- indebted customers. The programme needs to be implemented by Debt Counsellors who are competent and registered by the National Credit Regulator (NCR). For you to register as a debt counsellor you are required to undergo training, which is approved by the NCR, and comply with all the requirements set out in the National Credit Act and Regulations.
Target Audience
The program is targeted at individuals who have a:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF level 4 qualifications.
- Minimum of two years working experience in any of the following fields: o
- Consumer protection, complaints resolution or consumer advisory services
- Legal or Para-legal services
- Educating or training individuals
- Counselling of individuals
- General business environment
The individual should also:
- Display the ability to provide counselling or transfer skills
- Demonstrate an ability to manage his/her own finances

Where does training take place?
Due to COVID 19 training is online/Zoom
Assessment and Examination
Leaners will have to complete exercises at the end of each module, on the Tuesday of the last week leaners will write a three hour Mock examination and on the last Friday leaners will write a three hours examination and pass mark is 75%.
In which language is training conducted?
All the materials are in English which is the main language of instruction. The needs of learners will be considered and where possible, trainers can facilitate in the required language specified at the time of booking.
